If you havent played with pet pal yet, seriously you need to. But Pet Power can be a little bit too op depending on the summon (that poison plant summon for example became game breaking powerful for me), so I wouldnt recommend it for a. Each of these animals adds such life to the game and adds such emotion to me as a player. For me the Pet Pal gift is a must have, since it doesnt actually give you any advantage on battles (so it doesnt feel like cheating or anything), and its pretty fun. To ending a dispute between a dog and a cat on who loves them more, to the baby cub trying to get back to his mother, and the turtle thats in love with the rat in rikers basement. From the grieving source hound on the beach of driftwood, to the last remianing tiger in the nameless isle. The pet pal perk adds such life and atmosphere to the game, and gives some of the best quests and interactions. It made me rather peeper attack me so that i wouldnt be the bad guy, and give up the rewards. The narrator made my character sound evil for making that choice, and despite knowing it was the right thing to do, it made me feel like shit. So i reload the game, go back and decide to kill the baby peeper. It murders his dad, spawns several other babys and attacks me.forcing me to kill it. Now i thought that i would be rewarded with a new companion, or would have found some place for the baby to go, but no. When i got to his father, the dad told me i had to murder his son, and peeper let out a scared "daddy!" I coulsnt bring myself to do it, and said i wouldnt. It was an adorable moment and i felt a happy ending coming along. When the mother asked me to save her child and take it to his father, i was excited to be escorting this baby chicken around following me. Then i went back later on, and saw all the chickens were killed and peeper was left alive. After saving the eggs i felt proud of myself for being a good person. So spoilers for this quest, you can skip this paragraph if you haven't gotten to driftwood yet, or if you didnt do the chickens quest.ok so this quest really messed me up. Buy eventually the more i played, the more that the animal personalities fit and impacted me more then any other choice in the game. When i first heard the animal voices, i was skeptical and thought that the concept was pretty weird. But nothing upsets me, or makes me feel like a bigger scumbag then interacting with the animals around the world.
